Taq-i Zargaron
Today is the last day of our practice and also of our historical tour. Two weeks of practice classes are over. Today we went to Taq-i Zargaron
Taq-i Zargaron is located on the famous trading square of Bukhara and is a huge covered building where jewelry was traded in the 16th century. "Toki Zargaron" literally means "dome of jewelers", that is, a part of the bazaar that was dedicated to the manufacture and sale of various gold and silver jewelry.
The jewelry bazaar was famous for its wide selection of precious products, it was possible to find earrings, bracelets and necklaces even for the most sophisticated taste. Once upon a time, 36 jewelry stores were located in a huge building, and the Zargaron trading dome itself was among the very first trading floors erected in ancient Bukhara.
According to Khafizi Tanysh, a chronicler of the 16-th century, in 1569-70 Taq-i Zargaron (Toki Zargaron Trading Dome), the taq of jewelers, is the largest of all existing ancient shopping malls in Bukhara. Tag-i Zargaron once accommodated 36 shops and ateliers with all inventory.
Today, under the famous dome, trade is also in full swing; numerous visitors come here to purchase a wide variety of purchases: from national scarves to home decoration items.
THE END. 😊🥰🤩😍
